Dr. Bruce D. Klugherz is a clinical and interventional cardiologist with expertise in coronary and peripheral angiography and endovascular intervention. He is board-certified in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology. After earning his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, he completed an internship, residency, and fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He is currently the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Abington Hospital.

Dr. Klugherz is President-Elect of the Medical Staff of Abington Hospital. He has also authored and co-authored abstracts, book chapters, and articles that have been featured in Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Human Gene Therapy, among other peer-reviewed journals. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Klugherz’s specific interests include:

  1. Management of coronary heart disease, including cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, and stenting.
  2. Peripheral vascular disease, including peripheral angiography, stenting, atherectomy, and carotid stenting.
  3. Catheter-based closure of ASD and PFO.
  4. Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), for patients with aortic stenosis.
  5. Left atrial appendage occlusion using WATCHMAN for patients with atrial fibrillation.
