Theresa Bownes, CRNP is originally from Northeast Philadelphia and now resides in Bucks County. She attended West Chester University where she received her undergraduate degrees in Exercise Science (2003) and B.S.N. (2016). She has practiced as an RN since 2007 and has a wide range of experience in medical/surgical, telemetry, Emergency Medicine, PCU & CCU. She went on to receive her MSN from LaSalle University in 2021 and joined AMS cardiology in October 2023. In her spare time, Theresa enjoys traveling, concerts and spending time with family and friends.
Kelly Fisher, AGACNP-BC is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in cardiovascular care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University in 2009 and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Prior to joining AMS Cardiology, Kelly spent over a decade practicing cardiology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, gaining extensive experience in the inpatient and setting. She is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and values building long-term relationships with her patients. Kelly takes a collaborative approach to care, working closely with patients and multidisciplinary teams to support heart health and overall wellness. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys golfing, practicing yoga, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Christopher "Chris" Mathews, PA-C, is a nationally certified Physician Assistant dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based patient care. He earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Arcadia University and completed a highly specialized Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Fellowship through Main Line Emergency Medicine Associates at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating Magna Cum Laude. His healthcare experience spans nearly a decade, including roles as an Advanced Patient Care Technician at UPMC Montefiore Hospital and an Emergency Room Technician at UPMC Memorial Hospital.
Chris has extensive experience evaluating and treating patients with a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. His clinical expertise includes comprehensive patient assessment, diagnostic interpretation, coordination of care with multidisciplinary teams, and performance of a variety of medical procedures. He is skilled in emergency and urgent care medicine and has experience managing complex patient cases in fast-paced clinical environments.
Chris is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and maintains Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Outside of medicine, Chris values community service, leadership, and teamwork. As an Eagle Scout, he has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to service and personal excellence. He is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and helping patients achieve their best possible health outcomes.
Fred Pereira, CRNP joined AMS Cardiology in June 2024. He completed his undergraduate education at Temple University and received his Master's degree from Gwynedd Mercy University in 2017. Prior to coming to AMS, Fred spent 4 years as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner in West Chester, PA. Previous to his experience as a Nurse Practitioner, he spent more than 10 years as a Cardiovascular Registered Nurse. Fred is fluent in English and Portuguese.
Julianne Tobin, CRNP, joined AMS cardiology in September 2024. She received her undergraduate degree from West Chester University and her graduate degree from Drexel University. Prior to joining AMS Cardiology, she practiced as a nurse practitioner in Family/Internal medicine for 7 years. She worked as a registered nurse in a Hospital cardiovascular unit for over 10 years prior to obtaining her nurse practitioner license. In her spare time, Julianne enjoys cooking, road trips, and spending time with her friends and family.
Yuliya Velenchuk, AGACNP-BC, is a dedicated nurse practitioner originally from Ukraine but has lived in Bucks County for most of her life. She earned both her undergraduate nursing degree and her graduate certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Thomas Jefferson University. Yuliya’s career began at Abington Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a cardiovascular nurse before advancing to become a nurse practitioner. Passionate about patient care, Yuliya is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and exploring the outdoors. Yuliya is fluent in English and Ukrainian. She embraces her multicultural background in both her professional and personal life.
Rhiannon Whyte, CRNP joined AMS Cardiology in October 2021. She completed her undergraduate education at Grand Canyon University and received her Master's degree from Widener University in 2021. Prior to coming to AMS, Rhiannon spent 6 years as a Registered Nurse. She has experience in general medicine, emergency medicine, and has spent the last 3 years at Abington Jefferson Hospital's cardiac intensive care unit. Rhiannon uses her well-rounded medical experience to provide a full-picture approach to patient care.
Seamus Winters, PA-C is originally from Philadelphia, PA. He attended an accelerated Physician Assistant program at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania where he received a Master’s degree in Health Science in 2019. He joined AMS Cardiology in 2021. In his spare time, Seamus enjoys following sports, golfing, and spending time with family.
