It’s the size of a paperclip, has no leads or batteries, is intended to keep people with high-risk heart failure out of the hospital, and Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health just became the first facility in Eastern Montgomery County to implant it.
The CardioMEMS HF System is “the first and only FDA-approved heart failure monitoring device proven to significantly reduce hospital admissions when used by physicians to manage heart failure,” according to an Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health press release.
