Dr. Emanuel J. Kostacos is a board-certified, noninvasive cardiologist who has been in practice since 2004. He graduated from Amherst College magna cum laude in 1998. He completed medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He remained at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for his residency in internal medicine and completed his cardiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is trained in most aspects of non-invasive cardiology including: echocardiography, stress echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, and transesophageal echocardiography. He has a special interest in valvular heart disease. Presently he serves as Co-Medical Director of the Porter Institute for Valvular Heart Disease and performs much of the intraoperative cardiac imaging. He is involved with the training of Drexel cardiology fellows in the performance and interpretation of transesophageal echocardiograms.
